The reason that this is called the Airport Park is because it is literally right at the Santa Monica private airport. You can watch the small private jets and planes coming in and taking off. We come here occasionally and ususally have a good experience. The park is on the side of a hill with a number of trees. The ground is covered in bark mulch. A Santa Monica License is required to visit this park or you might be ticketed, or so I hear. I think that getting the Santa Monica License is worth it as it opens up access to several other dog parks in Santa Monica. Overall a nice park.
